WriteClub was created because Leif Kendall (a freelance copywriter) and Ellen de Vries wanted to meet more writers. So they met in a cafe one morning (18 September 2009) and invited other writers to join them. WriteClub ensued!
WriteClub soon gave birth to a London cousin (WriteClub London), hosted by the almighty Al Robertson.
WriteClub continues happily in Brighton, now lovingly maintained by Leif (in the mornings) and Mike Hadfield, Helen Keevy and Rob Shepherd in the evenings.

The format of the meetings was inspired by/stolen from: The Farm – a very friendly networking group for Brighton’s New Media freelancers and Likemind Brighton – a casual collective of likeminded people who do interesting things.
